One way to capture the chic and casual cool look of a celebrity walking down the street is to throw on a trench. They have never gone out of style, and I always picture New York when I see them, because of how effortlessly cool they are.

This season the traditional trench got a modern makeover and I’m obsessed. Because spring in Texas is usually unusually warm, I wouldn’t be able to get much out of a lightweight long-sleeved trench as I would as a sleeveless one.

I love this longline trench because it can instantly elevate any outfit and really becomes an accessory more than a jacket. I went with a neutral camel (is anyone surprised?) so I could pair it with so many different things. You could do all white, all black, over a midi dress..the options are endless. All you really need is the vest and basics from your closet!

Because this outfit is a little plain on it’s own I knew I could have some fun with the accessories. I chose a gold statement bib and matching gold cuff. When you’re wearing neutrals you can really pick one or two statement pieces for your outfit to revolve around.
