Happy Tartan Day! And what that might be?! I actually wasn’t aware either until after I started writing this post and mid way realized that today is Tartan Day (literally such clutch timing!) – commemorating the Scottish Declaration of Independence. How fitting for what I’m featuring today!
As it slowly starts to transition from Winter to Spring, I like to mix and match traditional pieces from each season and incorporate them in new ways. Say for instance, wearing a tartan print from the Winter season on a Spring staple skirt. Or a chunky knit sweater with short shorts. Or thigh high boots with a midi dress. You get the point.
It’s unexpected and simply put, fits our current mood: It still kind of sort of feels like Winter but we’re kind of sort of like in Spring
Outfit Details: Tartan Skirt- Topshop, White Top- Forever21, Black Boots- Steve Madden, Clutch- Lulu’s(old, similar), Hat- Forever21
I love this skirt because it’s unique given the thick wool material and cute classic red tartan pattern. It’s perfect for a breezy Spring day! I decided to play up the red, black and white colors of the pattern by pairing the skirt with a white mock neck top and black tie up boots and a hat.
This look kind of reminds me of a chic Scottish school girl look and I’m loving it for Spring days that still wanna remind us of Winter days. What unseasonal pieces of clothing are you wearing to cope with the weather transitions?
