Cape Coat

Hey loves, happy Wednesday! The weather is acting bipolar in Texas by being really warm one day and super cold the next, freezing in the morning and balmy in the daytime, which makes it really hard to dress for the day. My solution? Layering up, so I can peel off one piece at a time as it warms up during the day.

One way to get a layered look this season is by adding on a cape. They are my current obsession because not only do they make me feel like a superhero, which is why I’m getting ready to fly in picture #6, but also because they are damn chic!

Cape coats add a hint of mystery to your look with those arm hole slits and they make you look stylish because you can guarantee no basic girl is wearing one of these! Style over an all-black look for a seriously on fleek style fix this season. They also come in various styles. The one I’m wearing here is more of a cape coat, but be on the lookout for cape blazers and cape ponchos for different occasions!

My staple all-black look consists of a studded textured turtleneck and leggings as pants, only acceptable because my top and cape cover my butt 🙂 I added maroon fringe heels to tie up the whole deep maroon look. These fringe heels are a great fall piece since fringe is trending and to top it off they are on sale right now!!

Even though this look may not keep you the warmest, especially if you live up north, you can still wear this look as long as you add even more layers to this outfit. A thick scarf, a sweater over the turtleneck and another thick puffy coat over the cape would have my body feeling like it was in Cancun Smiling sun free icon and I know we’re all down for feeling like that!
